Clarity, in partnership with Oracle Consulting, recently completed the Cloud@Customer implementation on behalf of Chicago Public Schools (CPS), providing necessary hardware updates and migrating existing financial applications, both pivotal first steps toward the two-year plan to upgrade CPS’s entire financial management ERP system.
The move from Oracle’s SuperCluster platform to Cloud@Customer allows CPS to maximize the full benefits of this implementation originally established as part of the project scope. In addition, the project team was able to provide the added benefit of a Gen2 platform upgrade, which allows CPS to leverage the latest technology available. Jay Van Patten, Executive Director of Enterprise Applications for CPS, considers it a game changer for the district. “For me personally,” he said, “it was an unforgettable experience to work alongside such a talented group inside and outside our organization with one common goal to deliver a solution that changes the landscape for CPS.”
We also completed another critical part of this project with the establishment of a Disaster Recovery, which enables CPS to continue to operate during an unplanned event, such as a power failure at a data center, providing additional peace of mind to the organization.
From here, CPS plans to upgrade the software to the Oracle’s latest version of E-Business Suite. Long-term, this will improve the District’s ability to provide timely and accurate financial data management via modern processes and a robust, scalable infrastructure platform.
