Clarity Partners has been working with 17 other Chicago-area businesses to help develop the People’s Pitch for Amazon’s second headquarters, known as HQ2, to land in Chicago. This pro-bono working group has been collaborating on a grass-roots campaign to show and build support for HQ2 among all Chicagoans through social and digital media. Chicago, which made Amazon’s short list of 20 cities, presented 10 potential sites in their bid for HQ2 and easily satisfies all of Amazon’s listed requirements.
Clarity’s primary contribution to the campaign is the design, development and management of the recently launched “Chicago Is All In” website. This website includes a call to action for Chicagoans to join an email list of Chicago Amazon HQ2 supporters, information on the many economic benefits and opportunities that HQ2 would afford the city, news on Chicago’s Amazon bid, and serves as a platform for residents to express their support for Chicago’s bid.
The website also hosts several videos featuring local business, community and cultural leaders, including Chicago Bears Head Coach Matt Nagy and the owners of heavy metal burger-joint, Kuma’s Corner. The videos show the diversity of support for HQ2 and a wide-spread sentiment that Chicago is the right choice, for both residents and the growing technology company.
The People’s Pitch will also sponsor a city-wide contest in the coming weeks, challenging residents to submit their ultimate Chicago itinerary for Amazon officials visiting Chicago.
