Winning Projects
Chicago Board of Election Commissioners – Website Replatform
Chicago Board of Elections (CBOE) was looking to create a new website that would improve voter education, engagement, and accessibility. Clarity replatformed the CBOE site to Drupal and performed the following improvements to this site: more responsive webpages, ADA compliant webpages, a “Your Voter Information” tool, a “Vote by Mail” online application, and an Election Results tool.
We also improved the site’s search functionality, language accessibility and translations, access to social media outlets, and common browser functionality & compatibility while giving them the ability to do web traffic analytics reports and adding third party integrations.
The new site analytics allow CBOE to understand in real-time how the site is performing for voters related to each election that takes place.
Office of the Inspector General, City of Chicago – Website Redesign
Clarity was engaged to redesign OIG’s primary website as well as two additional entities that existed as part of the site.
OIG Information Portal: Public-facing dashboards, created to make complex information more comprehensible and readily available for the public to search for and visualize facts and statistics about Chicago’s police and public safety operations, City and OIG employees, the City Budget, etc.
O’Hare Tip Line: A tool for members of the public, City employees, and contractors to provide confidential information to the OIG. Using a WordPress CMS, Clarity redesigned each of the sites while ensuring OIG’s requirement that they share common branding, but be redesigned and rearchitected so that each site clearly communicated its purpose to website visitors, including residents and community groups. These sites were designed to be responsive on mobile devices as well as meet WCAG AA accessibility standards.
Chicago Council of Global Affairs’ Blue Marble – Website Design & Development
The Chicago Council on Global Affairs (CCGA) partnered with Clarity to design and develop a new digital presence within their existing primary Drupal website infrastructure. The new presence needed to leverage as much existing functionality as possible while still providing a distinct design and branding that appealed to a younger audience. It was also essential that the site be mobile-friendly; the expectation was that most users would access the site on a mobile device. The new presence would be called Blue Marble. The structure of the site is based on the sitemap provided by CCGA. This effort included a fully complete, end-to-end website, encompassing planning, design, development, and launch. In addition to Clarity delivering a site with all of the aforementioned requirements, Blue Marble is robust, secure, and well-designed, with the ability to enhance it well into the future.
